# Diamond Push Up

> A push-up with your hands together under your chest, which puts extra work on the triceps alongside the chest.

## How to do it

1. Get into a plank and bring your hands together under your chest, thumbs and index fingers touching in a diamond.
2. Brace your abs so your body forms one straight line from head to feet.
3. Lower with your elbows tucked close to your torso until your chest nearly touches your hands.
4. Press back up to straight arms.

- Chest stops just short of your hands

## Common mistakes

- Letting your lower back sag toward the floor
- Hips and legs dropping before the chest
- Flaring the elbows out to the sides
- Holding the shoulder blades still instead of letting them move
