# Incline Chest Press (Machine)

> A machine press on an inclined back pad that trains the upper chest, with the front delts and triceps assisting.

## How to do it

1. Set the back pad at 30 to 45 degrees and the seat so the handles line up just below your collarbones.
2. Sit with your head, shoulders and hips on the pads and pull your shoulder blades back and down.
3. Press the handles up and forward to nearly straight arms.
4. Lower until your upper chest stretches, keeping your elbows about 45 degrees from your torso.

## Common mistakes

- Lifting your hips off the seat and arching the lower back
- Lowering the handles toward your neck
