## How to do it

1. Sit with your back and head against the pad and your feet flat on the platform, about hip width apart.
2. Release the safety handles and straighten your legs without locking your knees.
3. Lower the platform until your knees reach about a right angle.
4. Press through your whole foot back to straight legs.
5. Keep your glutes on the seat the whole way.

## Key cues

- Back flat against the pad
- Glutes stay on the seat
- Knees track in line with your toes
- Stop just short of locking out

## Common mistakes

- Cutting the depth short because the weight is heavy
- Going so deep that your lower back rounds or your hips leave the seat
- Locking your knees hard at the top
- Letting your knees cave in

## Muscles worked

- Primary: Quads, glutes and adductors
- Secondary: Hamstrings

## Equipment
