# Stiff Leg Deadlift (Barbell)

> The barbell stiff-leg deadlift is a floor-to-floor hip hinge with nearly straight legs that trains your hamstrings, glutes and lower back.

## How to do it

1. Stand with the bar over mid-foot and your feet about shoulder width apart.
2. Hinge forward with only a slight bend in your knees and grip the bar.
3. Lift the bar close to your body with a straight back until you are standing tall.
4. Lower the bar back to the floor with control, keeping your legs nearly straight.

- Bending the knees more as you go down
- Rounding your back to reach the floor
- Letting the bar drift away from your legs
