Push Press (Barbell)

An overhead press with a leg drive that lets you move heavier weight and trains the shoulders, triceps and legs together.

Barbell · Front delts · Push

How to do it

  1. Rack the bar on the front of your shoulders with your grip just outside them, elbows slightly forward.
  2. Dip by bending your knees a few inches, keeping your chest up and elbows up.
  3. Drive hard through your legs and press the bar straight up, moving your head back to clear it.
  4. Lock out overhead with arms and legs straight, then lower the bar to your shoulders, absorbing it with your knees.
